Service Terms & Conditions

Please make sure you read and understand the TERMS & CONDITIONS before booking your hair and makeup services with Katie Dawson. This is a legal document and, on your booking, you agree on behalf of yourself and other clients included in your booking to be bound by these User Terms.

** It is the responsibility of the client who books to understand, agree and be responsible for all booking conditions, including all payments being made by specified dates.**

Pricing

Please note that all prices are subject to change unless previously quoted in writing. Notice will be given of any future changes.

Trials

Customers are required to pay the full amount for the trial on the day of the trial. 24 hours notice must be given if you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to do so means you will be charged the full cost of the appointment.

Booking your date

Your booking will not be locked in until a non-refundable booking fee of $80.00 for wedding bookings, or $50.00 for special occasion bookings has been paid. You can have a trial before securing the final date if desired, however we will not be held responsible if your date gets taken by another client who is willing to put a deposit down on the same date.

Payments & Fees

The person(s) scheduling the appointment will be responsible for full payment of all services in the event that other people in the wedding party do not pay their portion. Payments for the hair and makeup services taking place on the booking day can be paid in advance if the client wishes. There is a minimum call out fee of $250.00 (or minimum of 2 clients for hair & makeup) for any bookings on location. Public Holidays will incur an additional $50.00 fee on top of regular charges. Early start times commencing before 6.30am will also incur an additional fee of $25.00 for every half hour before 6.30am.  

 

Refunds

Katie Dawson - Makeup Artist does not offer refunds for any completed services; therefore if you are in any way dissatisfied, the onus is on the client to notify the stylist whilst they are on location.

 

Cancellations and booking changes

You are asked kindly to give us a minimum of 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your trial appointment.  Cancellations or missed appointments without prior notice will be charged the full cost of the appointment. No refund will be given for booking fees. All wedding deposits are non-refundable. Cancellation of any wedding day booking must be given in writing, by post or email and will only be confirmed upon receiving this. The following cancellation fees apply if:

• The booking is cancelled less than 1 month before the day- 50% of the final quoted invoice will be charged in order to cover loss from rejecting other potential bookings.
 

Please note that if a large booking has been made (eg. a bridal party), Katie will have set aside that day for you. Therefore, dramatic changes to the services required (eg. a reduction in client numbers) may be charged at the full, original quote. This is because we have turned away other work on that date because of the time required for the original booking details. We may also have organised an assistant for the day that requires them to set aside their day and subsequently miss out on other work, so they still need to be paid accordingly.

 

Timing

Time management is of the essence therefore adherence to appointment times is critical in ensuring that Katie delivers the service you expect. Therefore when making appointment times, please note that these times will be strictly adhered to. Should unforeseen circumstances arise, the onus is on the bride to advise Katie as soon as possible. Katie is not responsible if desired completion time is not met due to wedding party delays.

 

Travel/Parking Fees

A travel fee may be incurred depending on distance required to travel. In the event that any hotel/motel and public parking fees are incurred as a result of the location of the appointment, these will need to be paid for by the client on behalf of Katie.

 

Health & Sanitation

Where brushes are used, they will be carefully sanitised using an isopropyl alcohol spray between each client to prevent contamination. Any disposable applicatiors that are used on an individual will be disposed of directly after use. It is the client’s responsibility to alert Katie Dawson to any contractable viruses, including Cold Sores, Conjunctivitis, airborn illness, or skin infections, prior to commencing application. Katie Dawson is not under any circumstances, responsible for any allergic reactions to products used. The onus is on the client to notify Katie Dawson if they know that they have particular sensitivity or allergy to certain products. Clients may bring their own product that they are familiar with, and we will be happy to incorporate the product upon makeup application. We reserve the right refuse makeovers at our discretion for any clients who present with a contagious illness on the booking day, such as influenza or gastro viruses. We do not want to risk contamination of our products, brushes or put our health or other clients at risk.

 

Unforeseen Circumstances

In the rare event of illness or serious personal matter, Katie Dawson will endeavour to arrange a suitable makeup artist/hairstylist to replace her if required. In this circumstance, your deposit will be fully refunded to your bank account.
